Information we collect
Our assessment tools process the answers you enter to generate recommendations. Most assessment answers remain in your browser during the session. We also collect limited usage information such as pages viewed, referral and campaign source, device category, general screen-size range, assessment starts and completions, selected preference categories, recommendation links opened and technical errors.
We use randomly generated anonymous visitor and session identifiers stored in your browser. They help us distinguish a new visit from a return visit and understand how the site is used over time; they are not intended to identify you by name. We do not collect precise location through these identifiers.
How we use information
We use this information to operate the site, understand which tools are useful, diagnose problems, improve recommendations and measure engagement with products and retailers.
Affiliate retailers and external sites
When you open a retailer link, you leave The Player Standard. Retailers and affiliate networks may use cookies or similar technologies under their own privacy policies to attribute a purchase or measure referrals. We do not control those third-party practices.
Sharing and retention
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by service providers that help host, secure or measure the site, and may be disclosed when required by law or necessary to protect the site and its users. We retain information only as reasonably needed for these purposes.
Your choices
You may clear The Player Standard site data in your browser to remove the anonymous identifiers stored on your device. You may also use browser controls to manage third-party cookies. To ask a privacy question or request deletion of information that can reasonably be associated with you, email hello@theplayerstandard.com.
Children
The Player Standard is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Policy updates
We may update this policy as the site and its services evolve. The effective date above identifies the current version.
