Fit comes first
We begin with the golfer: how they play, what they already own, their priorities and their budget. A recommendation should solve a defined need, not manufacture one.
Specific, but not absolute
When the available information supports it, we name a specific product and explain why it fits. We also state the most important drawback. Golf equipment remains personal, and our tools are guidance—not a substitute for an in-person fitting when specifications or swing characteristics require one.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships can influence where we are able to send shoppers, but they do not buy a positive verdict. We may recommend holding the current equipment, choosing a lower-priced option or considering a product from a retailer that does not compensate us.
Accuracy and corrections
We review destination links and product details, but retailer inventory and pricing change frequently. If something looks wrong, email hello@theplayerstandard.com so we can investigate and correct it.
